The Great Brown Egg Mystery Solved: Opal's First Browns

The Great Brown Egg Mystery Solved: Opal's First Browns

🚨 THE GREAT BROWN EGG MYSTERY HAS BEEN SOLVED. 🚨 After days of suspicious behavior, questionable alibis, one egg on the coop floor, and an unreasonable amount of chicken surveillance footage… we have our girl. 😂 Opal is officially my little brown egg layer. 🤎🥚 And apparently she has also selected the middle nesting box as her preferred delivery suite. So now our egg basket officially has: 💚 Mabel — green eggs 🤎 Opal — brown eggs I cannot tell you how ridiculously excited I am about watching this little carton of colors come together. Now we wait to see which girl clocks in for egg duty next. 👀🐔 There’s something so simple yet so bright about a morning routine that includes a quick peek at the nesting boxes, a warm mug, and the sound of chickens softly clucking in the coop. We’ve started keeping a tiny tally board, just for fun, to note who laid what and when. It’s silly, but it makes the daily rhythm feel a little more intentional. Our garden beds tease with fresh greens, the sourdough starter bubbles away, and the chickens remind us that slow, steady care yields colorfully rewarding mornings. Life here is lived in small moments—one egg, one beam of sunshine, one quiet pace—ticking along as the days lengthen and we settle further into our homestead rhythm.
