Casa de Pollo: Roosters, Calves, and the Sweet Surprises of Farm Life

Remember little Gerdi? Yeah. About that. Gerdi is officially Hey-Hey now. 🐓❤️ After weeks of suspicion, side-eye, and increasingly rooster-ish behavior, the verdict is in. Our “hen” has accepted his new title and moved onto the sign. The girls seem mostly unbothered by the promotion. Tonight when I got home from work, I found another unexpected development. Two of the calves had wandered over to the coop to introduce themselves to the residents of Casa de Pollo. 🐄🐔 The chickens were fascinated. The calves were fascinated. Everybody stood around staring at each other through the fence like neighbors meeting for the first time after moving into the subdivision. Meanwhile, I’m pretty sure Hazel was already evaluating property values and considering expansion opportunities.
